Design commission I've done for new magazine 'The Paper', this illustration is based upon 'Translation'.

Translation is about creating a space between, creating a bridge, making connections. It is not only about shifting from one position to another, but about the mutual production of shared knowledge, language and experiences by differentially located subjects We are constantly engaged in processes of translation, between each other, with those that we share politics and with those that we do not, with people within spaces and milieus and across them. Translation is necessarily the base point of contact and exchange. This is not a passive, mechanical process, but one which is alive and pregnant with interaction, shared and co-production. Through translation, we both learn from each other and shape each other in the process. It is a practice of mutuality, sharing and co- influence across space and between places, languages and people.
